Eastfield: Homelessness Temporary Accommodation

Eastfield is a temporary accommodation service based in Penicuik, Midlothian.

Homeless Prevention - Care Support Scotland - Independent Living

A Brief Introduction to Eastfield

It is specifically tailored to meet the needs of adults experiencing homelessness and who have multi-faceted support needs.

The service consists of 9 rooms.

The service receives referrals from Midlothian Council.

Who We Support

Eastfield works with adults, usually over the age of 25. The service supports people who have a range of complex needs. Many residents have experienced relationship breakdown and trauma, and can have acute mental health needs and/or require support with their substance use.

The service is designed around trauma-informed practice, and the staff team works to harm reduction principles.

The service has staffing 24/7 to ensure that people receive support whenever they need it.

What it’s like at Eastfield

Our staff team is led day to day by a Senior Support Worker. We have a staff team of 8 who work a variety of shifts to provide care and support 24/7 throughout the week.

Eastfield is a high support service, and there is the opportunity to work closely with residents to support them on their journey into independent living.

Our team works hard to maximise independence and to support community engagement. Some of the residents will receive support from other services, for example, for mental health, substance use or criminal justice.
