Support is tailored to each person’s needs and can include help with daily living, community access, and building independence. Services work alongside NHS and social work teams where needed.
Access is usually arranged through a referral from your GP, community mental health team, or social worker, followed by an assessment of your needs. You can also get in touch with Care Support Scotland directly to ask about current services and availability. Support ranges from short-term help to longer-term supported tenancies, depending on what’s needed.
In most cases a referral comes through a GP, social worker, or community mental health team, though some services also accept self-referrals or enquiries from family members. It’s always worth contacting Care Support Scotland directly to ask, as this can point you toward the right route for your situation and area.
