Peffer is a core and cluster social care service in south-east Edinburgh, located in the Peffer area of Craigmillar.
Peffer has 13 properties in its cluster, and also provides community outreach services.
This service is registered with the Care Inspectorate as a dual Housing Support and Care at Home service.
Peffer’s main offering is accommodation with linked independent living support. However, It also offers outreach services to people with greater support needs living outside the cluster in the local area.
Peffer works with young people and adults who are 16+ and need support with independent living. We mainly work with those who have a diagnosed learning disability, acquired brain injury, or who are neurodivergent.
Care and support at Peffer is available from 25 hours per week (for accommodation with linked support) up to 24/7 care (105 hours per week plus overnight support).
Peffer’s staff team of 29 work a variety of shifts, providing 24/7 care and support throughout the week. They’re led day-to-day by a Team Leader and two Senior Support Workers.
Peffer is a lovely community of people from various backgrounds.They each receive person-centred support from a diverse staff team.
Our team works hard to maximise independence and to support community engagement, helping people take part in a range of activities that give them the chance to thrive.

We accept referrals from City of Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership, as well as self/family referrals using Self-Directed Support.
