Open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Pleasance Day Centre is an older person’s day opportunities social care service in Edinburgh. Located in the Pleasance area of the city centre, our day centre sits inside a recently refurbished building. It incorporates dementia-friendly design principles, and is fully wheelchair accessible. This service is registered with the Care Inspectorate. The Pleasance Day Centre provides care for the elderly, with day support for people aged 55+.


Pleasance Day Centre provides daytime opportunities and care for older people (aged 55+) in Edinburgh. It provides a four-hour session each day it’s open (currently Wednesday, Thursday and Friday). Each session includes a nutritious meal and transport between the person’s home and the centre.
At the Pleasance Day Centre, our care for the elderly in Edinburgh is bespoke and person-centred. While the service specialises in older age conditions, such as dementia and Parkinson’s, people rarely require just one area of support.

At the day centre, we give people support to live as independently as possible. We also aim to reduce social isolation by increasing community connection.
We have a staff team of 4 who provide support and care for elderly people during our day opportunities sessions. They are led day-to-day by a Team Leader.
Pleasance Day Centre is a vibrant older person’s day opportunities service in Edinburgh. It welcomes people from diverse backgrounds, who all receive person-centred support from a specialist older person’s team.
Pleasance Day Centre was recently refurbished to provide a modern, dementia-friendly environment in the heart of Edinburgh. It has a large activity space, fully equipped kitchen, accessible toilets, and two staff bases.
We host lots of day trips throughout the year, and the older people who attend Pleasance Day Centre help us to plan these outings and activities. This gives people a sense of agency and belonging.

We accept referrals from City of Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership, as well as self/family referrals using Self-Directed Support (SDS).
