Homeless Prevention - Care Support Scotland - Independent Living

A Brief Introduction to Klibreck

It’s specifically tailored to meet the needs of adults who have multi-faceted support needs and are experiencing homelessness.

This homelessness service consists of nine individual rooms, plus four self-contained flats. They help people to begin living independently while still having support close by.

Klibreck House temporary homelessness accommodation accepts referrals from Midlothian Council.

Who Klibreck House Supports

Klibreck House is temporary accommodation for adults (usually 25+) experiencing homelessness.

As a specialist homelessness service, Klibreck House supports people with a range of complex needs. For example, residents may have trauma from a relationship breakdown combined with acute mental health needs, and also require support with substance use.

The service is designed around trauma-informed practice, and the staff team works to harm reduction principles. Staff are available 24/7, so people receive support whenever they need it.

Living and Working at Klibreck House

Our staff team of eight people works a variety of shifts to provide 24/7 care and support. They’re led day-to-day by two Senior Support Workers.

Klibreck House is a high-support service, and there is the opportunity to work closely with residents to support them on their journey into independent living.

Our team works hard to maximise independence and support community engagement. Some of the residents will receive support from other services, for example for mental health, substance use or criminal justice.
