Kimberley Burnett, Service Manager
9 years with Care Support Scotland
After nearly a decade in Learning Disability and Neurodiversity services, Kimberley recently stepped into a new challenge: supporting people experiencing homelessness. What hasn’t changed is her belief in the power of connection.
“The focus is always back to the people we support… our leaders at the top are not far removed from what we do, and that’s never been lost.”
For Kimberley, what sets Care Support Scotland apart is the feeling of being part of something personal. The leadership team stays connected to frontline work, recognising effort and encouraging development.
“If you’re committed and willing to learn, that’s recognised. You’re given opportunities to try new things and grow.”
Raymond Docherty, Team Leader
10 years with Care Support Scotland
Raymond didn’t plan to stay long when he joined as a casual worker. But, ten years later, he’s leading a team and still loving the job.
“This isn’t about us telling you what you should be doing. It’s about you telling us what you want to be doing, and us making it happen.”
With decades of experience in social care, Raymond is passionate about helping people with learning disabilities and autism live full, independent lives. But what really inspires him is the creativity of his team and the community they’ve built together.
“It’s not a service, it’s a community. We’re very blessed. We have a very creative team. The only thing that will hold you back is your imagination.”
Joe Glen, Support Worker
Youth Homelessness Housing Support
Joe’s career has always focused on helping young people thrive: from running multimedia training projects to founding community services in Glasgow. Now at Care Support Scotland, he’s continuing that journey in Horizons, our youth homelessness service.
“I always enjoyed the challenge of working with young people and moving them forward with better skills and more confidence.”
For Joe, it’s about being part of a team that truly shares his values.
“I’m part of a team who are totally committed to helping young people achieve their personal goals and be able to live independently.”
